The Importance of the Queechy Lake Club for the Health of Our Lake
QLC Mission
To preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the lake.
We are a community of lakeshore property owners and others, working together to assure that the waters of the lake remain clean and safe today and in the future. Using local, state and national informational resources, we monitor lake cleanliness, invasive plant and marine species, and safety issues. We actively continue to educate ourselves and others on issues that affect the lake.
Water Testing
Dedicated to our lake.
Our collective love of Queechy Lake has no bounds. But the organization that directly monitors the health of the lake needs our support.
The Queechy Lake Club (established in 1918) tests the water many times throughout the summer and has been doing it for almost 50 years! As you can imagine, the fees for testing can quickly overwhelm a small community organization.
Recently, Jeanne went out with them to document some of what goes into monitoring the lake's health. This is one dedicated group!
In addition to testing the water eight times throughout the summer, from multiple depths, they also test about 70 locations all around the edge of lake. It's astounding what this organization does to keep Queechy beautiful!
We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude.
In the coming year, APBA will actively try to find ways we can assist QLC in their mission.
