2026 Membership opens in April.

The most common question we get is, “Why can’t everyone join APBA?”

We truly are not trying to exclude people from experiencing our beautiful beach. But the reality is, our bylaws only allow Canaan and New Lebanon residents to join.

Please note, eligibility is based on township residency, not school district. If the property you reside is on the property tax roll of Canaan or New Lebanon, you are eligible.

We must strictly enforce membership, as eligibility is defined in our bylaws, as well as our lease with Together for Youth (previously known as Berkshire Farm).

The other reality is, the beach is simply not large enough to allow for exceptions, as occupancy numbers are defined by the Health Department.
